We are a small, family-owned farm co-located in East Central Minnesota with Climbing Stump Farm, focused on breeding high quality, registered highlands.
Anna (Johnson) Lapointe and her husband Joe purchased their first cow, LEA Maggie, in 2017 after Climbing Stump Farm started raising highlands in 2013. Anna and Joe, both 2008 graduates of the United States Military Academy, chose the name West Point Highlands as a nod to their Alma Mater and and to the west fields of Climbing Stump Farm where they first met the highlands.
Anna and Joe, along with their three daughters, love visiting the farm and attending shows and sales as they are able. Currently stationed in Europe, they are grateful for the opportunity to watch the sales online.
The cattle of West Point Highlands are cared for as part of the Climbing Stump Farm herd. In the warmer months Climbing Stump's cattle are raised on pasture using rotational grazing. In the winter they are fed grass and legume hay. With the exception of the chemicals that may accompany the forage seed and hay Climbing Stump has purchased, their fields have been free of synthetic agricultural chemicals for over thirty years.
